Recycle it

The vision of “Recycle It” is to create waste sorting and recycling culture by installing sorting bins and increasing public awareness about waste recycling. Through this project, ISSD expects already installed more than 750 different types of sorting bins in various organizations including schools, universities, offices and also publicly available collection points for plastic, paper, glass, and metallic waste. The collected waste is being transported to the recycling sites.

Swings

The aim of “Swings” is to build playgrounds in frontier communities of Armenia. The team is going to organize several fundraising events and use small income generated from “Armat” social initiative and other projects of ISSD to build playgrounds accessible for children of various needs ages.

Fests Go Green

“Fests Go Green” project aims towards waste management and public education at festivals in Armenia. Improper waste management is one of the biggest issues that Armenia faces nowadays. Thus, within this project the team is organizing proper waste management during the festivals. The pilot project was implemented during Areni Wine Fest 2017 – which was held on October 7, 2017.

Armat

The aim of “Armat” social project is to support the villagers of frontier communities to grow and market various aromatic herbs in the pots. The nutrient rich herbs grown in the fertile soil and sunny Armenia will become your favorite ingredient in any dish.

As Armenia continues to develop as a country, attention has been increasing toward the relationship of educational access and absence of resources in the country’s rural communities. While majority of opportunities – vocational, educational, etc., are concentrated in the urban environments of Armenia, we want to focus our efforts toward bringing educational resources to less attended rural communities.

Biodiesel

This project aims at decreasing utilization of the fossil fuel in Armenia through introduction of eco friendly biodiesel to Armenian market. Biodiesel is produced from used cooking oil. It’s 20% to 30% cheaper than fossil diesel. This eco friendly fuel requires no vehicle modifications or special fueling equipment – just pump and go. Compared with fossil diesel, use of biodiesel results in low amount of regulated pollutants (nitrogen oxides (NOx), particulate matter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), etc.) and dramatically decreases GHG emissions to the atmosphere.
